Emily Morrison is a licensed acupuncturist, educator, and the practitioner behind Valley Spirit Acupuncture & Internal Arts in Beacon, NY. For more than twenty years, she has devoted her career to the study and practice of bodywork, Chinese medicine, herbal medicine, qigong, and the internal arts, weaving these traditions into a deeply individualized approach to care.
After beginning her career in therapeutic bodywork, Emily earned her Master's degree in Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine from the Oregon College of Oriental Medicine. Her clinical approach has been further shaped by fifteen years of lineage training with the North American Tang Shou Tao Association, where she studied classical and traditional Chinese medicine, internal martial arts, qigong, and the Gongfu medicine traditions preserved within the lineage.
Her work continues to evolve through ongoing study, creative practice, and a deep curiosity about the ways different healing traditions and lived experience can illuminate one another while remaining grounded in the principles of Chinese medicine.
Emily begins with the body as the place where our lived experience is continually expressed. Through careful listening, refined palpation, and individualized treatment—which may include acupuncture, herbal medicine, bodywork, movement, and lifestyle guidance—she helps people cultivate greater trust in themselves, deepen their awareness of the body's communication, and develop a more resilient relationship with health and the rhythms of life.
Alongside her clinical practice, Emily teaches qigong, bodywork, and Chinese medicine and collaborates on retreats throughout the United States and abroad. Whether working one-on-one or with groups, her intention is to create conditions in which people can cultivate greater trust, listen more deeply, and live in closer relationship with themselves, others, and the world around them.
